Want to give rowing a try?

Learn to Row with EERC Juniors Programme

Our Juniors Programme is open to boys and girls from 13 – 18 years old (school years 9 – 13).

Throughout the year, we run ‘Learn to Row’ sessions for anyone wanting to give rowing a go – usually during school holidays or at weekends.

Our Junior Head Coach runs fitness programmes throughout the year for children in Year 7 and above – open to everyone – which are Gym and Ergo based (not on the water). Another great way to see what rowing is all about.

For details and dates, see Juniors – What’s On.

Rowing is a great family activity.  Find out more about EERC adult rowing and EERC Adult Learn to Row.

Learn to Row

WHO: Our LTR programme is open to boys and girls from 13 to 18 years old, who want to give rowing a go and see what it is like.  No previous gym or rowing experience is needed.  The only requirement (for safety) is that you can swim 50m in light clothing.

Juniors listening to Coach

WHEN: Courses take place throughout the year, during school holidays and weekends – usually in the warmer months of the year.  We are planning LTR programmes for April and May half terms, and also some dates in July.  Exact dates and details are still to be confirmed, but you can but you can register your interest here.

What's Involved?

There are mandatory safety drills, including the 50m swim test and capsize drill!  Our coaches will teach basic rowing technique on the ergo machines in the gym and out on the water in boats.  You will also have lots of fun and make new friends!
