Where are we?

EERC’s boathouse is on the banks of the river Thames on the outskirts of Windsor. It is next door to Windsor Marina (down stream), the Oakley Court Hotel (up stream) and just opposite Dorney Lake – the venue for the 2012 Olympic rowing events. Take a look at the map at the end of this section for an aerial view!

Did you know that the St. Trinian's films which starred Alastair Simm and George Cole were filmed at the Oakley Court hotel?

We row all year round (conditions permitting!) on an excellent and picturesque stretch of the river between Boveney Lock (down stream) and Bray Lock (up stream). The great Olympian rower, Sir Matt Pinsent, rowed on the same stretch when he was a student at Eton! He has also trained and competed at Dorney Lake where we, too, sometimes row.

To find us

From Windsor, take the A308 towards Maidenhead. Go straight across the 1st roundabout (after the BP garage). Drive past Windsor Race Course and Centrica offices (both on RIGHT). At the next roundabout (with Squires Garden Centre on it) turn right (3rd exit) following signs to Windsor Marina. This road is a cul-de-sac and the big metal gates to EERC are at the end on the right hand side, just past the Marina.

From the M4, exit at Junction 6 and follow signs to Windsor. Follow the dual carriageway towards the town and take the slip road off to the left immediately you cross the river Thames. Turn right onto Maidenhead Road (A308) at the roundabout at the bottom - from here, see "From Windsor " instructions above.
