Squads & Coaching
Adult Squads 2010/11
Details of the adult squads (18+) can be found amongst the squad pages, very briefly, there are 4 adults groups according to experience, ambition, ability, age and time available for training.....
- Foundation squad - the entry point. Folk with a basic knowledge of how to row are working to improve their skills. Some are just looking to have fun on the water, others are keen to progress to competitive squads.
- Novice squad - for those who want to learn to compete and win. There is fitness benchmark for this group, you need to have mastered the basic stroke and be available very regularly for training.
- Intermediate/Senior Squad - this group is for experienced athletes racing above novice level and the training regime is 5/6 days a week.
- Masters Squad - many athletes of mid 30s + will do at least part of their racing as Masters. From 40+ most will be predominantly Masters racing. The athletes in this group have the skills to work independently and organise themselves.

Coaching
The club provides free coaching from members who are experienced rowers, many of whom have also obtained coaching qualifications from British Rowing.
With the exception of our Community Sports Coach, who is involved with the Juniors, all our coaches are volunteers.
The main coaching sessions takes place on Saturday and Sunday mornings between 7.30 am and 1.00 pm. The coaches will also be in attendance during weekday evening sessions, including Gym sessions.
