Full Steam A-Head

EERC crews have been busy over the last few weeks competing at the Weybridge Silver Sculls, Marlow Long Distance and Fours head races.  At the Weybridge Silver sculls there were wins for Sian and Kathy in the WM C/D 2x as well as WME 1x and WMC 1x respectively.  There was a 1 - 2 finish in the WJ13 coxed quad event and a win in the J13 2x. Ollie and Ben put in a good effort just missing out a win in the IM3 2x event. Loveday and Hepsaydir put in a great row in the WNov 2x event winning over the 2nd place crew 2 minutes.  Laura, Pete, Scott and Medhi, all new to head racing put in a great effort negotiating the windy course and more importantly managed to stay dry! Marlow Long Distance Sculls was represented by a full complement of junior squad athletes.  There were wins for the Price WJ14 coxed 4x, Hepsaydir WJ16 coxless 4x, Broadbent WJ18 2x and Thorn/Hepsaydir WJ16 2x.  At this year’s Fours Head EERC entered two WJ 4x crews which finished 8th and 22nd in a very competitive category...all good experience to work from. Finally, in the Veteran’s Fours Head in choppy conditions the E 4x of Nigel, Dave, Keith and Paul sculled well to finish 3rd in their category. Kathy, Amy, Sian and Alicia put in a dynamic performance passing three crews during the race and closing fast on two other crews before the finish to place 3rd out of 10 crews in the WC 4x event.  Well done to all the crews for the great effort you have put in representing EERC!
